About Sophie & Lily's Creative Process
We began with our own ideas of the past and then started creating movement from the dialogue that followed. Collaborating with filmmaker Derrick Belcham and artist Andrea Beuscher, we asked 'How do we put memories to bed?', 'When is it time to be taken seriously?' - walking the line between hysterical and tragic while challenging our ideas or performance.
Do you work in other mediums other than dance? Any other special talents?
Lily teaches yoga, sings, acts, and has recently made her first stint as a standup comic. Sophie is in training to become a landscape architect.
What is your most memorable moment as an artist, his far?
Living together and dancing together to David Bowie.
We're all physical beings! What's your favorite part of the body and why?
The clavicle - because it is the strut (between the scapula and the sternum) and there's so much juice there.
